Did you visit the virtual public exhibition on our project website www.cwwtpr.com, or attend one of our community information events, either in-person or our online webinar.

Yes

Did you find the consultation methods and materials available were informative about our developed design proposals for the relocation project?

Not informative

Please provide any comments or suggestions on the consultation and what we could have done differently?

The documents do not provide summaries of all the important aspects. These should be here rather than having to refer to separate papers. Not always easy to find and read. A lot of the consultation document is repetitive about uses marketing and PR language. There are photos eg on Pages 11, 23 and 41 which are pretty meaningless and fill space where actual information could have been printed. Telling people that new areas to walk and new habitats will be created when they already exist is quite patronising. On consultation, you have been disingenuous. More than 50% of respondents wanted the facility to stay where it is. The new sites included green belt! You could have only considered locations where a real state of the art facility could be built ie going underground. You have ignored all of this.

I very strongly oppose your developed design proposals. You have ignored my responses to previous consultations and I have little faith that you will alter your current proposals in the light of my current response. This is purely a tick box exercise and consideration of local people is being completely ignored. You have completely ignored the response to the Phase 1 consultation in which more than 50% of a large number of people living in villages near the existing treatment plant and the new site at Honey Hill chose the option that the plant should stay where it is. You are prepared to build an ugly, intrusive industrial-sized plant in an area of pristine Green Belt when there is no operational need to do so and where re-development of the existing site will provide additional housing that is already accounted for elsewhere. In the process you will add significantly to your carbon footprint at a time when it is critical not to do so. I can only conclude that your over-riding ambition is to use your government grant and make money for your shareholders. I am amazed, therefore, that you can sink so low.

The consultations at each have been designed to prevent real objections, and where objections have been raised they are ignored. For example, the project was presented as 'where should the WWTP move to?' when actually there is no need whatsoever for it to move. The majority view for it to stay where it is was ignored. Likewise the request from respondees for a separate a14 junction was ignored. The process feels pointless to engage in and has put many people i know off bothering to spend their time only to be ignored. The webinars I attended were the biggest waste of time and I did not attent the most recent one. It was empty platitude after empty platitude and no real response to anything raised. Where is the opportunity to disagree with this waste of public money? This is being funded by a housing grant and it is not housing, nor is it necessary to create housing. Funding is important - by all means waste your time with recreational facilities if it is AW company money, but if it is our taxes paying for it then people may feel differently about wasting money on facilities nobody will use due to the smell.
